To create public awareness of heart attacks and its ill effects on health, “Run For a Beat & Udyati Trust” in association with BBMP, Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology and Vriddhi Fitness Spa and Saloon is organizing ‘Run for a Beat’ marathon at Jayanagar here on August 15.
Dr.A.M. Jagadeesh, Medical Superintendent of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences & Reasearch and Benkipatna Hero Pratap Narayana launched the event. ‘Run for a Beat’ will have four main categories with ‘10k and 5k run’, ‘Special Run for Specially Abled’, ‘Run with your Pet’ and ‘Senior Citizens Run’. “Run For a Beat & Udyati Trust” in association with BBMP, Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology and Vriddhi Fitness Spa & Saloon, Suryansh Group, MDS Group, Decathalon, Vriddhi Fitness, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike and Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology.
The marathon is a fundraising event to cater to heart surgeries of the deserving kids at Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology. The event is expected to mobilize thousands of participants from various educational institutions, voluntary organisations and Government agencies.
The prime focus of the run is to encourage women and men of all ages to run on the occasion of Independence Day (15th August) to create awareness against heart attacks as well as to financially help the poor kids at Jayadeva Institute of Cardiologywho are suffering from heart related diseases. All citizens of the city are invited to have a good time running/or even walking at the event and bringing in change for the future of those kids at Jayadeva Institute of Cardiologysuffering from heart related issues.
The event intends to raise money for those suffering from heart related issues through this effort.
Apart from the run, the event will have a warm up session. Teams of volunteers and medical professionals will be at all junctions and roads during the marathon. Drinking water, first aid, medical treatment and other necessary facilities will be available for the participants along the marathon route.
