Team to perform 10 plays from August 12
Yet again ‘Sanchari Theatre’ is all set to captivate the audience. Sanchari Theatre has been captivating the audience for the last ten years and is getting ready to stage 10 dramas in Bangalore as it turned ten this year.
‘Sanchari Theatre’ is a unique theatre and culture centre. It is also renowned as an extravaganza of elegant drama troupe. The journey of ‘Sanchari Theatre’, on the path of art and culture, had started on August 03 in 2004 with the troupe staging the play ‘Urmila’ of H.S. Venkatesh Murthy in Rangashankara & Kalasoudha.
Noted artist Rangayana Raghu, Mangala N and Gajanana T. Nayka conceptualised the ‘Sanchari Theatre’ and began staging plays in 2004. The team has nurtured the interests of a good number of artists and introduced them to drama/film fields in the last 10 years.
One of the aims of the ‘Sanchari Theatre’ is to make experiments while presenting plays on the stages. It has been successfully covering experiments during premiering plays.
Apart from transforming plays from scripts to shows, the ‘Sanchari Theatre’ has taken several initiatives for the development of art and culture in the last 10 years. ‘Poorva Ranga’ for aspiring artists and ‘Varanthya Ranga Shibhira’ (Weekend theatre camp) for children are popular programmes of ‘Sanchari Theatre’.
As the ‘Sanchari Theatre’ turned 10 years, the Sanchari team is organizing ‘Sanchari Sadagara’ to present 12 shows of 10 dramas from August 12 to 19.
‘Sanchari Sadagara’ will start with the ‘Kailasam Keechaka – A Love Story’ at ‘Rangashankara’ on August 12 and conclude with ‘Urmila’ play at ‘Kala Soudha’ on August 19. In order to promote art and culture among the school children, ‘Sanchari Sadagara’ will perform two shows for school children on August 13 and 14 at 11 a.m.
Ranganayana Raghu on ‘Sanchari Sadagara’: “We are proud to organise ‘Sanchari Sadagara’ as our team has turned ten years. We have already introduced several artists to theatre and film field. We will further continue our efforts and experiments.”
Founder of ‘Sanchari Theatre’ N. Mangala says – “It will be a unique and special experience to perform 10 plays in just 10 days. Our aim is to enthrall drama lovers”.
Gajanana T. Nayka, another founder of the team, on its future plans: “We are contemplating training our trainees to direct plays in the coming days.
